Gasherbrum I, also known as Hidden Peak is an 8,080-meter (26,509-foot) mountain in the Karakoram range on the border between Pakistan and China. It is the 11th-highest peak on Earth and is part of the Gasherbrum massif, which includes several other notable peaks. The name "Gasherbrum" means "shining wall" in Balti, reflecting the mountain’s dramatic features.

The first successful ascent was in 1958 by an American expedition, via the Southwest Ridge. The climb is technical and demanding, with steep rock faces, glaciers, and extreme altitude. The mountain is known for its unpredictable weather, avalanches, and rockfall, making it a challenging summit for experienced climbers.

Though not as famous as nearby K2, Gasherbrum I attracts climbers seeking to test their high-altitude skills in one of the most remote and rugged regions on Earth. Its isolation, combined with tough conditions, ensures that summiting Gasherbrum I is a remarkable achievement in the world of mountaineering.
